Moral result

To determine the consequences of the melee, both in the case of simple and multiple melee, it determines the difference between the strengths in attack and those in defense. Add any bonuses and deduct the malus. Go to the Column corresponding to the differential. Throw two six-sided dice.Cross the sum of the numbers drawn on the table of the melee.

It will give you the result for both the attacker and the defender.   For instance 1R1 or 2R2

The first part of the result shows us the number of victims; 0, 1 or 2 soldiers.

The second part shows us the moral result, which can be: R1, R1S, R2, AV, BT.

In the case of the multiple melee, which we will see shortly, the losses and moral outcome are attributed to each actively participating unit in the melee. For example, with a result of 1 R1 all participating units will suffer the elimination of a soldier and demoted 50% of the movement keeping the front to the enemy.

The line of retreat (R1) or route (R2) is in the opposite direction to the event that caused it and directed towards its main lines. The fugitive unit cannot remain or enter enemy formation control zones. If it’s forced to do so, it turns retreat into rout and course into elimination.

If the result of the table is R1 (withdrawn), it retreats 50% based on the formation held keeping the front to the enemy. It stops as soon as it reaches the friendly unit making it shaken and making it move back enough to maintain the distance of a base between the two formations. If the unit that is to withdraw has already shaken, the retreat turns into a route.

If the result of the melee is R2 (route), the unit retreats keeping its back to the enemy of 18 cm plus the outcome of a D6 if it is infantry or 24/30 cm + 2 D6 if it is Heavy or Light cavalry.

If the result of the melee is AV, the unit advances to a maximum of half its movement while pursuing the fleeing unit.

If the result of the melee is BT, the unit breaks through anticipating the next move and continuing for a full move. The next move cannot make the reaction move if attacked.

if the result of the melee is R1S as well as recede becomes shaken.
